Thank goodness I use boot media to backup my HDD w/1 TB of data on it, and 10TB of chains backed up with this bug in the OS-version each weekly backup would tie up the PC for at least the whole week maybe multiple weeks THAT is what I mean by egregiously unacceptable, as it's literally impossible to do a weekly backup that takes multiple weeks to run.Īcronis messed up big on this one. Thank goodness this is being looked into as it is egregiously unacceptable so VERY unacceptable they should have contacted users and issued refunds. (The exception I think is the ATIH2020 boot media, I think it still takes the prior, acceptable, amount of time.) And the same 5 for an Incremental that used to take 15 minutes.
#Drobo dashboard drive says good but red outline full
For example, a Full that used to take an hour now takes like 5. Which could explain why the issue is getting worse as I fill the storage space with more chains.Īt first it seemed like Incrementals 'just' took as long as Fulls, but now as I said it's worse. Yes I always validate honestly based upon validation times I thought versions of ATIH previous to 2020 were validating all links in the chain too.but what I'm seeing time-wise does make it seem like ALL chains are now being validated. Either way I'd be looking to replace that failed disk, particularly if all those 3 TB drives were purchased together, in which case the rest might fail soon too.Thank you very much for your helpful reply, Bobbo! My interpretation would depend if you have enough remaining storage for your data. (This is the one I'm unsure of) it might mean it's recovered as much as possible with the available space, or it actually did manage to rebuild with parity. I'm running out of space, probably due to the circumstances above. It's attempting to restore redundancy, don't remove any(working) drives or otherwise mess with it because your data isn't protected. You do not have redundancy, probably due to 1. You should replace the failed drive ASAP to allow the array's redundancy to be rebuilt. It sounds like there isn't enough room on the remaining drives (9 TB) to allow a rebuild with parity, so it went as far as it could and stopped. How much data do you have stored? When one of the drives fails, Drobo will try to rebuild the array with the remaining disks, if you have enough capacity. In dashboard it is saying currently 100% is used so I am unsure if this is holding up the data protection progress.Īny help will be greatly appreciated on this one as this has never happened before. No action is needed at this time.” (it has not finished data protection, 45 hours remaining).ĭo i let it run it the data protection (still saying 45 hours remaining, hasn’t changed since last night) or do I replace the dead drive as it is showing the bay is empty? Changing from single or dual disk redundancy or Drobo detected and corrected bad blocks on a drive. If all bays are in use, find the bay with the solid Red light and replace that drive with a higher capacity drive.”Įmail 5: “The Drobo has just completed a rebuild of your data due to either of the following conditions: Drive was added, removed or replaced.

If the Drobo has an empty bay add a drive of equal or higher capacity. You can continue accessing the data on the Drobo while data protection is in progress.”Įmail 4: “The Drobo is running extremely low on available space. Replace the hard drive indicated by the blinking red light.”Įmail 2: “Drive redundancy in critical state with no extra drives due to a failed or removed drive, do not remove any drive.”Įmail 3: “Do not remove any drives or power down the Drobo. I am now getting contradictory emails from the Drobo as follows:Įmail 1: “Red Alert. However, this time the Drobo has gone into data protection mode (normal, green/yellow flash) but the failed drive is also flashing (flashing red / empty bay).

Last night i had a drive fail in my 5D (firmware 4.1.2) running 4 3TB and 1 10TB Seagate drive, I have replaced drive before without issues.
